A spanking breeze named SpiceJet

SpiceJet

Sun, Nov 13 2009 12:12 PM
Date of Journey : 25– 11- 2009, Flight No : 236, Route : Coimbatore – Delhi
Duration of Flight : 3 hours, Passengers : Sony V. Mathew
Airline Company : SpiceJet

The sweet evening breeze blew around me, as I reached the Coimbatore Airport to board the flight to Delhi on Oct 25, 2009. The small size of the airport made the queue at the frisking booths looked long, but the formalities were relatively less tedious. The Boeing 737 -800 aircraft landed on time, to take us with it to its next destination.

I walked across the bay to board the SpiceJet airline, #236. A fair lady with slender looks welcomed us at the entrance with a pleasant smile, which was as broad as the meaning of its punch line – flying for everyone. The ambience inside the aircraft gave me the freshness I was longing for after a tedious journey from Kochi to Coimbatore by car...

Trip to Mauritius, Air Mauritius Chennai – Mauritius flight Experience

Air Mauritius Chennai – Mauritius flight

Sun, Sep 13 2009 09:49 PM
Date of Journey : 04– 08- 2009, Flight No : MK 0747, Route : Chennai – Mauritius
Duration of Flight : 5 hours 30 minutes , Passengers : Venugopal Gopukumar
Airline Company : Air Mauritius

My relationship with Air Mauritius dates back to 2005 when I first flew in an Airbus 340 from Mumbai to Mauritius.

On August 4, 2009, I reached Chennai International Airport at 0500 hours, 3 hours before ETD of 0800 hours. Every thing, the check in, the immigration, the actual security check, etc., was smooth. I made myself comfortable in the economy section somewhere over the strongest part, perhaps over the wings, of this Boeing 767. I don’t remember what exactly the airplane was called. But, I definitely remember another plane that was named after my place in Mauritius; it is called the City of Curepipe...

Sky King, Kingfisher New Delhi – Bengaluru flight Experience

Kingfisher New Delhi – Bengaluru flight

Thu, Apr 30 2009 10:15 AM
Date of Journey : 18– 2- 2009, Flight No : IT 0212, Route : New Delhi – Bengaluru, Departure time : 03.50 PM , Arrival time : 06.20 PM (BLR)
Passengers : Abdul Latheef Nalakath , Airline Company : Kingfisher

It was 1 pm and I was almost ready to hire a taxi to the Delhi airport, from Gurgaon. When one of my friends agreed to drop me at the airport I gave away the idea of hiring a taxi. Knowing him for the last 8 years, I was doubtful whether I could reach the airport on time. Meanwhile, I followed up with my friends Ram and Naji who were traveling with me to Bangalore on the same flight. In 15 minutes we were all supposed to meet at the airport. Eventually my friend arrived, but unfortunately he dropped me at the IGI Airport by mistake, thinking that I was on my way to Dubai. It was already 14.15 PM and my flight was to depart from the Palam Airport in about an hour.

Without wasting much time I hired a taxi from IGI and went to Palam Airport. My friends had become nervous...

The Kingfisher ATR 72 Experience

Kingfisher ATR 72

Sun, Feb 15 2009 10:45 AM
Date of Journey : 25– 12- 2008, Flight No : IT 4430 , Route : Cochin – Bengaluru, Departure time : 07.56 AM (COK), Arrival time : 08.54 AM (BLR),
Passengers : Prasad Ramachandran, Airline Company : Kingfisher

As usual the X’mas celebrations over night forced me to stay up so late, but it didn’t distract me from waking up early in the morning to catch the Kingfisher ATR 72 flight to Bangalore. Even though I was aware of the punctuality record of the airlines, thanks to my friend Sumitha who was working for another airline, I was hoping to receive some delay message from Kingfisher, which would allow me a few more minutes on bed. (My expectation was not without reason. On the New Year day of 2008 an airline took off very late from the Calicut airport as the pilots were unable to ‘take-off’ even from their bed due to their overnight celebrations)

Anyway I reached the airport on time; the check-in was as smooth as the smile of the Kingfisher counter staff...

The Emirates Experience

Emirates

Mon, Dec 15 2008 07:15 AM
Date of Journey : 15th july ‘08, Flight No : EK 530Y, Route : Dubai-Cochin,
Departure time : 03:25, Arrival time : 08:55, Passengers : Sujith K R & Reema Sujith, Airline Company : Emirates

It was midnight. Dubai, the city that never sleeps was still live and vibrant, flashy and neon. The city seemed just switched over to the night mode. Everything else was the same as it would look under a day sky. We reached an equally flamboyant International Airport , with glitzy surroundings, kept neat, tidy and truly international.

Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport has an exclusive section for check-in to Emirates flights. There is a couple of self check-in online equipments and wide row of assisted desks. It was quite relieving to see rows or of ‘any flight @ any counter’; something unique to Dubai Port. No hitch, no delay, no long wait...
