South Indian Actress Roma
Its Good to Know

Parasailing
Parasailing is an adventure sport that uses a parasail, a type of parachute, to create the effect of smooth gliding. Parasailing has become really popular because it doesn’t require much training. Solang Valley near Manali, Billing in Kangra Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Nilgiri Hills of South India, Darjeeling and Gangtok in the Eastern Himalayas and several states like Goa, Kerala and Orissa offer parasailing opportunities.

River Rafting
River rafting or White river rafting is an extreme water sport that uses a raft to cruise through untamed water bodies. The Himalayas cradle a lot of treacherous and rocky rapids and provide ample prospects for river rafting. The rapids along the Ganga, its tributaries, Teesta, Sutlej, Chenab, and Beas are popular and Rishikesh is the most frequented spot for the sport. Brahmaputra, Tawang and Spiti in the Eastern Himalayas, Trishuli, Kosi, Seti and Karnali in Nepal also provide ideal spots for river rafting. River rafting and rapids are graded on the basis of risk and expertise needed. There are separate areas for amateurs and tricky gorges are left for experts.

ROMANCING ADVENTURE
‘I fall in love with each place I am in…’
       ROMA

(Roma is a lovely young Indian actor with a huge fan following. She has many super hit movies to her credit in South Indian languages. Settled in Chennai, she is now busy moving from one film set to another and says she badly misses her adventure games.)

I am passionate about adventure games. The meandering rivers and rough currents are always tempting. I have never missed a chance to live the excitement of para-sailing, river rafting and paragliding. Trekking and mountaineering have always been my favourites. I am dangerously and passionately in love with adventure.

I have been to river rafting many a times and the most memorable of them was in Beas River. My cousins and myself had a great time in the rough waters. We started off from Kulu-Manali and moving down the river was excitement of the highest order. The tricky frothy river was in full might and gave us a real challenge.

Para sailing is an equally promising venture and my first stint at it was in Lankavi, Malaysia. A truly exciting experience you should try at least once in your life. Once, in London, I tried Paragliding too… and sashaying down with the wind and the clouds was experience extraordinaire. A few months back I had been to Vagamon in Kerala, the windy terrain with rolling hills and clear sky offers a perfect location for paragliding. Once into the global para-glider’s map, I hope, Vagamon would soon see hundreds of gliders thronging its hillocks.

Wish List

I am a lover of forests and mountains. Though I am not that familiar with the South Indian forests, I have been to many forest locations in the North India. I would love a thorough trek into the Himalayan forests and wish I could make it soon. My wish-list includes North Eastern Mountains and Tibet. North-Eastern forests and villages will never ever loose their charm and I always wish once I could spend wonderful wonderful times there.

Travelling is in my blood. I like travelling more than anything else and like to find myself at different places and among different people. I want to be a real globe trotter and I want to land in each and every country on earth.

Favourite Location!

Oh, that’s tricky. It is a pretty long love-list and frankly I can’t stick to one. Every place is exciting in one way or another. Every culture and people is different. The cool beauty of London and the neon exuberance of Singapore and the tropical magic of India can never be put under one scanner. And I fall in love with each place I am in, and excitement is everywhere.
